Horses from Germany have performed outstandingly in international competitions. At the equestrian Olympic competitions in 2008, 40% of the horses came from Germany and half of the jumpers were from Holstein. The film explores just how Germany managed to achieve this status and whether this position is unchallenged. The film visits the breeders and riders, the veterinarians and scientists to reveal the secret of successful breeding. There will be historical reviews and trips to the origins of noble breeds, such as to Uzbekistan. In addition to Germany, Poland and Hungary play an important role in the film, as these countries have successfully crossed thoroughbred lines for centuries.
