Das Versteck

A year after his divorce, Max tries to win back his wife. He pretends to be wanted by the police and wants to hide out at her place. Wanda goes along with it. At first she resists Max's attempts to rekindle their relationship, but then almost allows herself to be seduced. She throws her new lover out when he reports Max to the police. In the process, she finds out about the deception, but doesn't let on to see if there might be a new beginning after all. Wanda, who has become more self-confident and also more skeptical since the breakup, realizes that the second attempt would only be a rehash of the unsatisfactory marriage. Max has not changed, nor is he willing to resolve the conflicts between them, merely wanting to push them aside. Wanda decides for the final separation.
