New York, in the year 2095: A huge pyramid hovers ominously above the megalopolis. The ancient Egyptian god Horus has returned to Earth to save his immortality. Enki Bilal's Immortal combines his penchant for pale skin and striking hair colors with the futuristic story of mutant Jill Bioskop, whose blue appearance and exceptionally young body cells make her a scientific curiosity in New York in the year 2095. The film's comic book origins clearly influence its aesthetic, as live-action footage, drawings, and CGI merge so seamlessly that their boundaries are barely discernible.
