Carmen & Lola

Despite their common background as young Roma women in Madrid, Carmen and Lola couldn't be more different. 17-year-old Carmen doesn't think much of education and wants to lead a life as a housewife and mother after her upcoming wedding; just as her family expects. Lola, on the other hand, who is barely younger, has completely different plans. She is attending school and wants to study so that she can break out of the traditional life of a gypsy woman. And Lola doesn't care for men. She prefers the female sex, although only secretly for fear of the reactions of her conservative family. Her interest soon turns to the pretty Carmen, and although she is engaged to Lola's cousin, she takes every opportunity to get closer to her. An intimate friendship develops between the two, which soon turns into love. But tradition and family put this forbidden love to the test, and the two young women must make a difficult decision.
