The summer just before her 10th birthday brings Vittoria the challenge of hating, loving and forgiving two mothers. Shy Vittoria has a close relationship with her loving mother, Tina. But her quiet life in Sardinia is turned upside down when the young girl discovers that the party-loving Angelica could be her birth mother. When Angelica must soon leave the village for financial reasons, she asks to meet Vittoria before she leaves. Tina agrees, reassured by the knowledge that the woman will soon be gone.
