3 a.m. Most of the residents of Jerusalem are asleep. A Palestinian girl dreams of flowers, plants and trees. In her maternity ward, midwife Yana Glazer has helped a girl into the world. Meanwhile, the bars of West Jerusalem empty, chairs are stacked. The streetcars are at the depots, the checkpoints are silent. Wassim Razzouk is still bringing his motorcycle to dry land after a trip to Ramallah. During the day, he runs a tattoo studio. The Ethiopian Orthodox Christians are the oldest black community in Jerusalem. They believe they are descendants of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. In the Jerusalem church of this denomination, Ethiopian Orthodox monks and nuns pray from 2 a.m. until sunrise. Mohammed and Fadi live in the Shuafat refugee camp, which is also part of Jerusalem. At this early morning hour, they are looking for the perfect sound for their latest rap.
