De Lampertsbierg: the history of a neighbourhood over 150 years

Country & People/History, Luxembourg 2021

Starting in the 1960s, the "upper" part of Limpertsberg is gradually transformed into a chic residential district. It is flanked by a completely new school campus, which develops anarchically alongside the large, traditional educational institutions such as the School of Industry and Commerce (LGL), the School of Applied Arts (LTAM) and the Lycée de Jeunes Filles (LRS). Many artists settled in this intellectual environment, such as Joseph Kutter, Luxembourg's best-known painter, or the artist "dynasties" Schlechter and Weyer, who are considered pioneers of Luxembourg's graphic design and advertising industries.
