Inspector Maigret

The Christmas peace at the Maigret's is disturbed by Mademoiselle Doncoeur, who tells the inspector an interesting story about Colette, the neighbour's little child. She tells him that Santa Claus appeared to the girl last night. He had given her a big doll. Maigret suspects that this Santa Claus was not a fantasy figure of little Colette, but a flesh-and-blood human being who for certain reasons hides behind a mask. Based on the crime story Un Noël de Maigret (1951), which was first published together with two other stories in March 1951. In German, the material was first published as Maigret und der Weihnachtsmann, and in the new translation it was finally published as Weihnachten mit Maigret.
